Exciting Changes at MHERC

The Mental Health Education Resource Centre was first established in 2003 as an information and knowledge exchange resource library dedicated to reducing mental health stigma and discrimination in Manitoba. MHERC began by providing accurate and up to date information about mental illnesses, recovery oriented services and best practices. Books and resources were made available, free of charge, throughout the province. MHERC helped to link groups and associations. MHERC has continued to bring information and resources to Manitobans ever since.

MHERC, in keeping with changing times, has adapted to the new and growing needs for mental health information, education and connections accessible from home or work. We recognize that people are needing and wanting new media presentations and podcasts, easy access to printed materials, e-books, and audio resources.

MHERC continues to be a place for people to come to and explore but now all of the best of MHERC will be available to you from wherever you are.

When you arrive at our newly designed website, you will find downloadable fact and tip sheets, presentations, workshops, podcasts, blog posts and a directory of community resources. Our library will be expanding to include electronic book selections – all the more convenient for those who do not live in Winnipeg.

So, please join us on our new site. Explore, engage and connect with MHERC and all of what we have to offer. We want you to be a part of our new chapter in mental health awareness.

We’ve Got a Fresh New Look!

If you’ve visited our website before, you’ll notice that it looks a little different. With a tip of the hat to the mind-body connection, we have integrated a mandala symbol into our branding. All mandalas are based on a circle, and then infused with other designs (geometric, floral, etc) to form a deeper meaning. As they have become increasingly popular for their countless meditative and relaxation benefits, we thought the mandala was the perfect fit for our Mental Health Education Resource Centre.
