Mental Health
- We all have the capacity for mental wellness in which we are living a robust and fully satisfying life.
- Mental health is about accepting challenges, making choices and having the coping skills and resilience to meet problems as they arise.
- It is never too late to achieve mental wellness – we continue this journey to wellness for most of our lives.
Mental Health Challenges
Mental health challenges are common. One in five Canadians will experience a mental health challenge such as depression, anxiety, or other distressing conditions at least once in their lives. Even more people are affected indirectly through family, friends, or co-workers. People can experience positive mental health even if they live with mental health challenges. Recovery and wellness are possible, and expected, especially when a person receives help and supportive resources.

Mental Health Education Resources
Our hope is that these downloadable fact sheets, tip sheets and presentations will be useful to anyone who is seeking accurate and up-to-date information on mental health and wellness. These are not, however, a replacement for professional, medical or counselling support. Please see our resource page for information and direction to community resources in mental health.
If you or someone close to you is in crisis in Manitoba, contact Klinic Crisis Line, Mobile Crisis, Crisis Response Centre or go to your local hospital emergency unit.
We’ve Got a Fresh New Look!
If you’ve visited our website before, you’ll notice that it looks a little different. With a tip of the hat to the mind-body connection, we have integrated a mandala symbol into our branding. All mandalas are based on a circle, and then infused with other designs (geometric, floral, etc) to form a deeper meaning. As they have become increasingly popular for their countless meditative and relaxation benefits, we thought the mandala was the perfect fit for our Mental Health Education Resource Centre.
